Scenario:
A company wants to increase the open rates of its promotional emails in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). To achieve this, they decide to run an A/B test on the email subject line.
Test Setup:
Objective: Determine which subject line results in a higher open rate.
Test Group: 20% of the email list (10% receive Version A, 10% receive Version B).
Winning Criteria: The version with the higher open rate after 4 hours will be sent to the remaining 80% of the audience.
Variations:
Version A: "Exclusive 50% Off – Limited Time Offer!"
Version B: "Hurry! Your Special 50% Discount Expires Soon!"
Execution in SFMC:
Navigate to Email Studio → A/B Testing.
Select "Subject Line" as the test variable.
Define the audience split (e.g., 10% for each version, 80% for the winner).
Set the winning metric (open rate).
Schedule the email send and analyze the results.
